Located in Clover, SC Rena serves small businesses and individuals in Clover, Rock Hill, Charlotte, Fort Mill, Gastonia, Belmont, and Columbia South Carolina. As well as extending services to clients in Charlotte North Carolina and surrounding areas.
Growing up in the small, southern town of Cheraw, South Carolina surrounded by extended family and a childhood that epitomized "it takes a village to raise a child", Rena's family owned and operated the local hardware store for four generations. Rena learned countless lessons from working at Cheraw Hardware, among them that every job is important and worth doing well, treat every customer with respect, and that loyalty and integrity are essential business skills.
After graduating from Cheraw High School, Rena set off for Winthrop University. She pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Winthrop. Her career in public education lasted for 29 years and spanned across five districts. Education was her passion for almost 3 decades, and she takes pride in her career as an educator.
As her life and story grew, Rena's family did too. Her son became interested in lacrosse, and she took charge of starting a local lacrosse league. This is where her love for digital marketing began. What started as a way to stay involved with her son's special interest, Rena dove head first into creating social media content to boost engagement in her son's local athletic group. Rena then found herself helping her father run for political office. She began offering her knowledge of social media to her father's campaign by assisting with his social platform development, content planning, and taking photographs and short video for posts.
As retirement from her career in education grew closer, Rena began searching for new career opportunities. The joy found in her personal use of social media, combined with a love of writing and marketing skills, RWD Social Media Marketing was established in May of 2021. Rena caters to small businesses and individuals to maintain a personal connection, excellent quality, and personalized touches to all of her clients.
